What is the proper way to transport my weapon to the class?
You must "open carry" your firearm whenever you are transporting it and you don't have a concealed weapon permit. Open carry means the firearm must be in plain view. Placed on your passenger seat would be considered in plain view. You can also unload the gun and lock it in your trunk. Or transport it in a lock box if you have one. If you are pulled over with a loaded firearm in your car, either place it on the dash or leave it on the passenger seat(in plain view) and simply place both your hands on the steering wheel or roll down your window and hold on to the sill with both hands. As the officer approaches state clearly to him you have a weapon in the car. As long as you are not trying to hide the weapon you are legal to carry it.
